These two came to us from Rettland Farm in Gettysburg. Farmer Beau has been supplying his heritage breed pork to our shop since day one and getting a chance to work with him for this project has been awesome.
They're still getting used to their new lodgings. They're rooting like crazy (seriously these things could rototill a garden in no time), which lets them get a little more familiar with the surroundings and also dig up any delicious morsels they might be able to find. They've got a ton of fresh straw in their shelter so tonight should be a nice and snug one - assuming they work up the nerve to actually get in there.
Check out the shots from today, which are mostly gratuitous butt shots because, have you ever really looked at a piglet's rear end before? It's great and your welcome. All I can see when I look at these guys is what a great life they're going to have for the next 5-6 months, and how delicious they're going to be at the end of it all. I definitely see some prosciutto-style hams in our future.
